Laura has been coming to New Vision with her family since 2015. Laura began climbing in 2004. She shared, "I have found a refuge in climbing during times of stress and uncertainty in my life - I found a challenge and joy in climbing. My favorite part of being on the wall is solving new routes and learning better technique." Laura has two children and has enjoyed working with children since she was a young girl. "I have always enjoyed organizing games for my family and the other kids in the neighborhood. As I grew older I found a joy in teaching kids around me. It's personally satisfying to see kids engaged and proud of their accomplishments." Laura comes to the gym most days to climb with her kids. "New Vision is like a second home to me, the atmosphere of the gym and the people who climb and work here is contagious, which is why I enjoy spending many hours here each week with these incredible people who I consider to be a part of my extended family. My kids ask every day if we can go to the gym to climb."
Laura describes herself as fun-loving. She enjoys reading, playing games (her favorites being Kingdomino Carcassone & Sequence), bouldering, mountain biking, exploring creeks, and paddle boarding. Laura competed in the 2012 Spartan Beast 18 mile course in SC.
